Reading is one of my favorite things to do and when I find a good book I tend to stay up all night long in order to finish it, usually in just a day or two. For me, books are a great way to escape and decompress after a hectic day or stressful week. I love the ability to lose yourself in a great story!
When we first had L my reading took a serious backseat and I really missed it! He didn’t sleep through the night until about 8 months and I would fall into bed at night barely able to keep my eyes open. I’d try to read a book only to get a few pages in and have my eyes started to droop! Now that we’re past that point and he mostly sleeps a solid 10-11 hours straight I have been able to jump back into it and am so happy! Here are some of my favorites from the past few months! Hope they are helpful if your in need of a good read!
It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
Obsessed. I read this book a few months ago but it is still fresh on my mind and one of my favorites. This is the book I encouraged all my girlfriends to read and then kept asking them if they finished it yet so we could talk about it! I love Colleens’ writing and I think I’ve read close to every book from her. They are easy reads and I always feel so connected to her characters. You truly feel every single emotion with this book. I couldn’t put it down but never wanted it to end. So. Many. Tears.
The Kind Worth Killing A Novel by Peter Swanson
My girlfriend recommended I start this book and admittedly it took me a bit to really get into it. The beginning was a little slow for me but once it got going I couldn’t put it down. It’s a great suspense novel and I was never sure what would happen next. I was constantly wondering about Lilys’ past and who she truly was! I also love that it is written by a Boston based author and about the Boston area!
Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty
I have read and loved both The Husbands Secret and What Alice Forgot by Liane and this book was no different. Mysteries and Suspense are slowly becoming my new all time favorite reads, and this kept me interested and eager to find out what happened on “that day” all the characters kept talking about.
I just today downloaded Gillian Flynns’ newest book, The Grownup: A Story by the Author of Gone Girl. I haven’t started it yet but saw it’s received good reviews on Amazon so far. Hopefully it lives up to her other three books! I really enjoyed Gone Girl, Sharp Objects and Dark Places!
Are you reading any great books right now? Let me know if you pick any of these up, hope you enjoy them if so! Have a great day! Annie
