Did you all watch the Super Bowl last night? What an exciting win for the Patriots! My husband was dancing all around the house yelling with excitement!
I have to admit, I know NOTHING about football. It is the most confusing sport in the world to me, but my husband lives for it. Having L makes it a little tricky to enjoy any Superbowl parties since he’s usually in bed at 7 pm. If we keep him up past then he is a total monster to deal with so we hung out at home this year with some good food and drink, my favorite part anyway.
Other then the Super Bowl, our weekend was a pretty great one!
L got to enjoy one of the finer New England foods, his first fluffernutter sandwich! If you have never had a fluffernutter, you are truly missing out in life. Marshmallow fluff is sticky, sweet, and amazing when paired with peanut butter (or served on a spoon), and L totally agreed. Go try one!
I worked for a while in the morning while my husband and L hung out at home. Once I was out we took it easy, played around the house, and we were all in bed by 9 pm. It was wonderful!
Sunday morning I woke up craving a donut and set out to find the best one. After a little google research I decided on Union Sq. Donuts in Brookline, a 40 minute drive from us. Since we were headed into the city we decided it was finally time to bring L to the New England Aquarium in Boston! We’ve been dying to go and were up early enough to know it wouldn’t be packed.
It was a tough choice but L and I got a brown butter hazelnut crunch donut and I must say, hands down best donut ever. We each had a few bites and I put it back in the bag to save for later. Unfortunately, our donut somehow got thrown out or fell out of the car and I almost shed tears when I realized it was gone. Truly, worst thing ever. Just means I’ll be back next week!
We got there right when they opened at 9 am and if you have little one I suggest you do this too. It wasn’t overly crowded yet and we could easily see each exhibit. L had enough room to run around and we had a blast! I’m hoping next time we go L will be a little more interested.
The rest of Sunday we spent watching football pre-game shows and hanging at home! Did you watch the Super Bowl? Do you understand football, or just enjoy the food and fun?
