How was everyone’s weekend? We had beauuuuutiful weather all week that continued through out the weekend and we enjoyed it to the fullest!
We opened all the windows at home, went on lots of long walks, and spent some time at the playground. Does anyone else count those stroller walks as a workout?! Pushing those up and down hills is killer!
When did my baby get so big?!
Speaking of playgrounds, when do kids learn to share and play with other kids? This weekend L struggled with some of the other kids there and I’m just unsure when it gets easier.
There were two older boys at the playground, maybe 2 and 5, and L was kind of obsessed with them. He wanted to do everything they did which was cute, but he also got really frustrated. He wanted the ball they had, he wanted to go down the slide but they weren’t letting him take a turn, that kind of stuff. We were at the playground for probably 15 minutes and had to leave because my husband and I didn’t know how to handle the older boys and L was frustrated and crying on and off the entire time.
So… when do kids learn how to interact with others? And how do you handle playing with others until then? I didn’t want to tell the older boys what to do but they also ran around like maniacs, errr kids. So that was a little hard but, it’s just a new phase we are dealing with! If you have any tips or insight I would love to know!
We spent Sunday mostly at home and doing some Whole 30 meal prep! Basically it’s a 30 day “diet” excluding grains, legumes, dairy, sugars, and alcohol (I think that’s it). I personally am not dieting or trying to lose weight, just need a little push to get back to a healthier lifestyle. So I created our meal plan for the week, hit up Whole Foods, and spent an hour or so prepping our food.
For dinners this week we’ll be having: burgers (no bun), salad, & asparagus, Paleo Shepard’s Pie, Salmon Benedict which looks unreal, and my Instant Pot Salsa Chicken on cauliflower rice. I also prepped roasted potatoes/veggies for breakfast, chia pudding, medeteranian salad and tuna salad.
The food sounds great and I am excited!! It will be a lot of work and discipline but should pay off! Even if you aren’t interested in doing Whole 30, the meals and recipes still sound great!
We did treat ourselves to ice cream on Sunday night from New City Micro Creamery as one last treat before the next month 🙂
L had a bowl of strawberry, my husband got a cookie dough ice cream sandwich, and I had double chocolate macadamia nut + mounds. SO GOOD!
That’s about it! L has been extra cuddly so we ended our night with some movies and couch time and all hit the hay pretty early!
Tell me, how do you deal with your little ones playing with others? Any tips to help make it a little easier!? Have a great Monday! Xox, Annie
