Hey hey hey there! Happy Tuesday! Isn’t it SO NICE to start the week off on a Tuesday rather then Monday? Nothing makes me happier then a long weekend and a short week! Our Memorial Day Weekend was a total blast and filled with friends, family, good food, and time spent outside!
We kicked things off Friday with some cocktails at home — spiked seltzer for me and some IPA’s for the hubby. These White Claw Seltzers are my jam right now. So light and refreshing, the perfect summer cocktail! My husband even loves them! I bought a big pack of them so we could sip on some over the whole weekend! Is that inappropriate? Memorial Day Weekend is for spending time outside and sipping summer drinks, right?
Recycled photo because I forgot to save one from this weekend!
Saturday morning we woke up to bright, sunny skies after a week of rain. We ate breakfast at home and then got out for a long morning walk, playtime at the park, and coffee! Love. L ran around at the park like a complete and total maniac after being cooped up for a few days and had a blast exploring the little stream that runs through it. He threw a complete tantrum when it was time to leave which was totally understandable, we were having a blast! But, my husband had an appointment to get his car fixed and L (and I) needed a nap!
That night we got takeout from Q’doba since one just opened up nearby and honestly, we probably won’t go again. My husband got nachos (odd choice?) and they FORGOT HIS CHIPS! How does that happen?! So we had to go back out to the store to grab a bag of chips and when he dug in he realized they also forgot the meat! Poor guy. My salad was fine enough but Chipotle and Moe’s will always win my heart when it comes to Mexican fast food!
Sunday was a great day and we spent it barbecuing with friends and their little ones! We planned for an early lunch, like 10:30 early, so all the kiddos could still get in an afternoon nap. Genius!
L indulged in his first hot dog ever and to say he loved it would be an understatement! But, we also just started letting him dip his food into condiments in an attempt to get him to eat more so halfway through I looked over and he was just putting his whole palm into the ketchup and licking it off. So, did he actually eat any food, or mostly ketchup? I’m still not sure!
After nap time, which the whole fam took part in, we went to my mother-in-law’s house for Memorial Day Weekend cookout number 2! More burgers all around! And a date night with my hubby after! Sparkling rose is also one of my fav summer cocktails right now!
Monday was spent lounging around as I may or may not have had one too many glasses of wine – #momlife, and it was cold and rainy out. My dad came to play with L and hang out for a while and that was a total blast! Love seeing him!
So, that’s what our Memorial Day Weekend looked like! Lots of fun, lots of good food, and lots of family! Nothing better.
