I received the following product free from Harry’s in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
With Father’s Day this weekend I wanted to take the time to celebrate the wonderful men in my life. I’ve been lucky enough to have an incredible, supportive father and now I’m married to an amazing man! We plan to celebrate Father’s Day together this weekend and I couldn’t be more excited!
My whole life my father has been completely involved in just about everything we did and always ready to play or take us on a new adventure. He lived for teaching my sister and I new skills, typically things like building a doll house for our dolls, cooking, or how to find your way home if lost in the woods. Seriously, he’s a man of all trades but mostly incredibly handy, smart, caring and willing to do just about anything to help another person.
When I started seriously dating I knew I wanted to find a man that fit into most of those same categories as my dad. While my husband isn’t the most handy of all men he certainly is genuine and caring! He is quiet and tends to keep to himself but would do anything for anybody, most specifically our son!
Watching my husband ease his way into fatherhood has been amazing, difficult at times, and so fun. When L was a newborn it was certainly the hardest. He unfortunately wanted nothing to do with Matt, only looking for a boob and nothing else. This lasted until he was at least 6 months old! He’d have his moments with my husband, letting him hold and rock him here and there but when it came down to it I was all he wanted for comfort. The first year was a true struggle but my husband never quit. He was determined to bond with L, to make sure that he hugged him, loved him, and cuddled him as much as L would allow.
One day recently when L was about 15 months old the tables all of a sudden turned. Dad is now the one to fix the problems and provide the comfort! L’s face lights up when he walks in the door and he bursts out of my arms to get to dad. To say I was a bit hurt would be an understatement but I knew this day would come and I am so excited to see their relationship grow!
My husband now has his time to show L all the things his father did for him. They play ball in the living room, tossing it back and forth as long as L will allow. My husband brings out the plastic golf clubs for L to run around with, smashing into just about everything but exciting my husband because one day he knows L will join him out on the course. L follows him everywhere and is always seeking out his attention and it’s the greatest thing ever.
So this year for Father’s Day we decided to get my father and husband a slew of gifts, one of those being a Father’s Day gift set from Harry’s! Our son loves to watch his dad get ready each morning, staring at him and following him around while he shaves his face and brushes his teeth. The gift sets are stylish and it include a storm gray Truman razor, 3 razor blades, foaming shave gel/shave cream, an engravable razor stand, and travel blade cover! The perfect gift for any man!
